Slow Art @ Lunchtime – Drop in, Saturday 16 March, 1 – 2.00 pm
We participated early in Slow Art Day at arc Gallery and inviting visitors to come and enjoy their own choice of artwork. This leisurely pace of viewing was an intrinsic aspect to our ‘Look See Interpret’ exhibition. Visitors were invited to grab some lunch and come in. Switch off their device and gaze……
After a half hour session, viewers can choose to leave or remain for the last half hour for a discussion and to share interpretations. What was gained if any? What were perceptions before and after viewing? Are interpretations better for having taken time? Learn about the artists’ intentions. What else was discovered about the art/artist?
We were not surprised if some visitors found themselves heading to the nearest art shop – encouraged to unlock your own creativity.
